Just a reminder that all trainers need to complete and submit a revised CR1 trainer approval application form for every centre they wish to be approved to work for. To avoid having your approval withdrawn, please make sure you return your form(s) NOW if you have not already done so!
The CR1 needs to be updated with your 30 hours’ professional development (an SIA requirement) every year and submitted to us every year when you submit your annual PI refresher certificate. If you are not approved to deliver PI, you will need to submit this form to us every year 12 months from submitting it to us originally (ie now).
As with the PI refresher certificate, it is your responsibility to submit this to us each year, and failure to do so will mean that our system automatically removes your name so no centre can select you as a trainer. Each time you submit a new version, you need to remove the previous professional development activities and replace them with only what you have done in the past 12 months from the date of signing, add any new qualifications, and ensure all the other information is still accurate.
If you are already approved by us, you do not need to submit your qualification certificates and photograph again, just the completed form itself, however please take this opportunity to make sure it is fully up to date, including your personal contact details (not those of the centre), date of latest PI refresher etc, and details of your 30 hours’ professional development in the last year (this can include employment, training, conference attendance, etc – do not include professional development activities more than one year old).
Because the form is specific to a centre and has to be signed by the head of that centre, you must complete and submit one form for every centre you work at, each one filled in and signed by you and signed by the head of that centre.
These revised forms were sent out in early December to all trainers, and the deadline for return has now passed.
If you have not yet returned a completed form for each centre you want to continue to be approved to work for, you must submit this now in order to avoid having your approval withdrawn.
