LASER Level 3 Award for Emergency First Aid at Work

*Please read Covid-19 update here*
It is recommended that you contact your resuscitation manikin supplier/manufacturer for up-to-date guidance on hygiene procedures.

The LASER Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work qualification provides an introduction to first aid training.  The syllabus covers the main workplace first aid situations that the learner may have to deal with including, managing an unresponsive casualty, bleeding and wounds, CPR, choking, shock and other minor injuries.  The qualification gives learners the skills and confidence to respond to a range of accidents and first aid emergencies that they could encounter in their workplace or voluntary roles. The qualification is designed to meet the syllabus requirements of a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

The recommended guided learning hours is 6 hours and the total time to achieve the qualification, known as total qualification time (TQT), is 7 hours.  Learners are assessed predominantly via practical demonstrations. Theory sessions are tested using question and answer, or multiple-choice questioning sessions.

A handbook is available to support learners during their course and as a reference source in the workplace. Click here for more details and to place an order.

Successful learners’ qualifications are valid for three years from the date of achievement.
